We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Fridge Swipe experience:

• Account information: Your email address when you create an account or sign in with a third-party provider (Google, Apple).
• Usage data: Features you use, recipes you swipe, meals you save, grocery lists you generate, and app session information.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
• Location data: Approximate or precise location, used only for the restaurant discovery feature and nearby search functionality. Location is only accessed when you use restaurant features and can be disabled in your device settings at any time.
• Photos: When you use the Fridge Scanner feature, photos you take are sent to our AI service for ingredient recognition. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of your session.
• In-app behaviour: Crash logs, error reports, and performance data to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• Provide app features: Powering recipe generation, grocery list building, restaurant discovery, and personalised suggestions.
• Improve the service: Analysing aggregated usage patterns to understand what features are most useful and where we can improve.
• Send notifications: With your permission, sending push notifications about new recipes, grocery list reminders, or product updates. You can opt out at any time in your device settings.
• Customer support: Responding to your support requests and troubleshooting issues.
• Legal compliance: Meeting our legal obligations under applicable law.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising beyond the Google AdMob integration described in the Third-Party Services section.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. This allows you to access your saved recipes, grocery lists, and preferences across sessions and devices.

• Active accounts: Data is retained indefinitely while your account is active.
• Deleted accounts: Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
• Fridge scan photos: Not stored beyond the active processing session.
• Crash and error logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of notifications: Disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
• Location opt-out: Revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings; restaurant features will be unavailable.

🔒 Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure database storage through Supabase, and access controls limiting who can view user data internally.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

👶 Children's Privacy

Fridge Swipe is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at team@fridgeswipe.com and we will delete it promptly.
